I got this machete as a gift and took it to a Caribbean Island where I own a villa and do a lot of hiking in the rain forests. This is by far the best machete, or cutlass as it is called here, I have ever used and I have used a lot! Don't know how the other guy broke his but I use mine to open coconut husks (ever try that? it's harder than you think!) and cut branches and trees as large as 3" in diameter. Also have hit a few rocks. It is very sharp and the envy of everyone that sees it. I am amazed at how sharp it stays. Wish the handle was made of better rubber-had to wrap it with electictians tape but it works just fine. I would definately buy another one.

I bought this item planing on using it to clear out some atv trails. It worked for about a week but then I hit a hardwood tree (about 4inches in diameter) and the machete just snapped in half so that its only now 13inches long, and also unless your wearing gloves the grip will give you blisters like crazy!!!
