One word's enough to describe the Ka-Bar kukri : WOW ! This is a really serious tool. I was sceptic at the very beginning, but after a weekend in the woods, let me tell you this blade is just outstanding for any camp work : chopping, splitting, and even breaking wood with the back of the blade. Basically, I intended to use it for 3/4" logs, but quickly took a chance on 8/9" logs... successfully !!!

first, zombies?? what, are you like 5yrs old?!? At least you admitted to being a dumass. I love kukri machetes! Ka-bar made a great one, I chopped down 8" trees with mine, and still gets all the brush outa my path. Great tool!!
No BS Review (5/5) May 21, 2008 Ron Palo Mountain View Ha US
I bought a Kabar kukri a few years ago, and have been "extremely" pleased with it. Over the years I've aquired several kukri blades, but the Kabar Kukri is my favorite. The steel is on par with the more expensive Cold Steel models, and the handle is more durable; also feels more comfortable in the hand. I live in a rain forest, and I regularly abuse my Kabar kukri on pest species of trees like Brazilian Christmas Berry, guava, and gum trees with are several inches in diameter. I can't say anything bad about this blade. One word of advice I can give is to stay away from the cheaper Cold Steel machetes. Although they have interesting designs and nice handles, the steel is way too soft for any cutting more difficult than soft vegetation. I bought several CS machetes a few years ago, and I can't keep a good edge on them (tried reconfiguring the edges, but always got the same result); edges roll over when I hit anything solid. The cheaper Tramontina machetes out performed my CS machetes by a wide margin. Anyway, you can't go wrong with a Kabar kukri.

I got this blade today and i havent used its full potential but i cut some wood with it, it holds a nice edge very well. i dont think it would be the best for spliting wood because it would get stuck in the wood alot. i also being a dumbass droped it and didn't want my new blade to chip so i caught it and almost had to get stiches. but i still love my kukri. it looks like a nice zombie killing weapon if your in to that.

If you have any questions email me and ill awner them.
